ugh. I intended to delete a draft but I've deleted my last post as well. I'll have to blame my flu and chalk it up to that. Actually, I really didn't like that post anyway. Perhaps it was a subconscious decision.

You could have made your point a bit clearer, certainly. And did you consider the possibility that Keynes never expected that one day he'd be a defunct academic scribbler? I once heard a distinguished economist of a generation which overlapped with Keynes' say that the basis of Keynesian economic policy was: Keynes was a Cambridge man, Cambridge men are smarter than anybody else in the whole world, so everybody else should do what Cambridge men, and in particular Keynes, said. Of course, the guy who made that statement was an Oxford man.

Ha! Yes, perhaps Keynes thought of himself as being above everything. Although, as Donald Trump says, “Show me someone without an ego, and I'll show you a loser.”
